We need to do something special for Halloween here.

Charlie,

If any one of us had time to do it, I'd love to see (Halloween or otherwise) someone track down some of the regular RMT actors who are still living and get THEM to make a post, or even a chat, here.

I'm just dreaming on this, but that would be COOL.

Somebody on the Yahoo board claimed that they were neighbors with Kevin McCarthey.

Another guy claimed to have interviewed Bob Juhren and Juhren claimed to have some unpublished scripts. If Juhren ever wrote a bad episode, I've not heard it.

I'd like some of those who are still with us to provide oral histories of the show. some behind the scenes information would be interesting. I'm guessing some of these people still live in New York. Tony Roberts, Marian Seldes, and Bob Kaliban appear on "Law and Order" which is filmed in New York. If we had a member who lived there, they could track them down.

I agree that we should do something special on Halloween. . .

perhaps we could try to break this record:

[code:1:3b536ca056]Most users ever online was 18 on Fri Apr 25, 2003 3:53 am[/code:1:3b536ca056]

or maybe gather together online in a chatroom and listen to a webcast - do our logs and show of the week live smile.gif

cheers

I wish we could talk to some of those people Kurt - that would be fun.

What I was thinking was that someone (if they have time) could check the broadcasts the day (or week) of Halloween from various years to see what was going on. Probably some pretty spooky programs for Halloween.

Howdy Folks,

Any new ideas or plans for Halloween? I'd be up for any of the previous ideas (webcast, chat, etc...).

Matt

I would really like to see a suggested Halloween list. As a newbie, every RMT program looks like a great Halloween treat. I need help in narrowing the list!

I thought I'd revive this post since I love Halloween, and it's not too far away.

As a home haunter (you can see my web site at http://www.halloweenproject.com ) I'm always trying to come up with ideas to make my haunt better. Having recently discovered RMT I've had a great idea, sadly I won't be able to implement it until I move in to my new home _next_ year.

I envision something like this: In a room of my home, or in the garage, an area is made up to look like an old fashioned sitting room with old chairs, an old rug, old portraits on the walls (maybe rigged to change from normal looking portraits to scary ones), fake windows, outside of which lightining occasionally flashes (and a machine is set up to softly play a thunderstorm track), and of course the centrepiece of the room, a big old radio. (I don't know what one of these non-functioning would cost; maybe I'll build a fake case to look like one with a speaker rigged to my laptop)

Now, children and parents would be invited in to sit and listen to episodes of RMT! With the lights dimmed, and the fake thunderstorm for atmosphere, I think it could be a hit!

Has anyone else done something like this? Do any of the rest of you haunt your house for Halloween?

Ahhhh . . . Ghost Grey Bat . . . that is a good one.

Has any one tried to track down some of those involved w/RMT?

(I have to ask this once a year :D )

I've heard almost all the RMT's over the years, and my personal recommendation and fave for scariest episode is "You Owe Me A Death" from 1976. It absolutely scared the hell out of me as a child, and rehearing it several years ago still had an impact. I only have a mediocre quality recording of it - is there a better one out there?

other good ones- Ghost Gray Bat (as mentioned), The White Wolf, The Summer People, and Sagamore Cottage.

I was recently listening to an episode form the 1974 season (I'll have to try to remember which one it was) and while listening (with earphones) realized i could hear verrrryyyyy faint music in the background of the recording. I assume it was either from the original recording having been done on a previously used cassette tape, or it was that another radio station close by on the dial was bleeding through.

Anyway, the song I heard very faintly: Tubular Bells from the Exorcist! Spooky!
