After listining to rmt over the years i have noticed once in awhile
a familiar voice acting out a character. This voice was not a main
character it might play a once line ''cop on the beat'' or a ''concerned
citizen witness'' but i know its HIMAN BROWN.Has anyone else ever
notice his voice. He is not mentioned at the end for acting just as the
producer.I always felt he had the ability to act and could have been
a key actor but that would have been too many hats and the quality
would have suffered.

Yes, you are right. Himan Brown does pop up now in then in an episode playing very small parts. Of course, later on he became the host of the show, taking over the E.G. Marshall role.

Mr. Brown did an unexpected turn as an ill-fated. lecherous guy at the beginning of the show "Kitty", who tries to put the hard moves on a non-consenting nightclub dancer.
Imagine him saying something like "Hey, baby, let's party"...you get the drift of his dialogue. As dignified as he always was it was almost amusing hearing him in this very brief role.

Speaking of cameos...
I just found out that in the movie "A Christmas Story" (you know, the one that TNT plays for 24 hours straight on Christmas), the writer of the story, Jean Shepherd, not only narrates the story, but makes a cameo appearance in the movie as the man standing in line to see Santa.

Stephen King does this routinely:
He's the minister in "Pet Semetary"
He's the hick guard in "The Stand"
He's the guy at the ATM in "Maximum Overdrive"
He actually plays a full role in "Creepshow"
There are other examples, but these are the ones I can name off the top of my head.

He never took over EGM's role during the show's run; Tammy Grimes did that.
The HB-narrated shows are rebroadcasts where he re-recorded EGM's tracks. I'm not sure that made him the host.
