I was wondering if anyone has listened to the LesMis series of shows aired January 1982 and what was thought of the RMT recreation of that great book.

Haven't listened to it yet... I've tried a couple of the series, "Nefertiti" and "The Last Days of Pompeii", both of which were worth listening to.
I treat them like watching an epic like THe Ten Commandments of Cleopatra... sit down, get comfortable, and prepare yourself for a LONG listen. (One of the luxuries of listening today that we didn't have when originally broadcast when you had to tune in every night for a week... like we didn't anyway... but you know what I mean! smile.gif
let us know how it is if/when you listen to it
cheers

Just like Lagavulin, I have not yet listened to LM, but have indulged in a couple of other of the mini-series; The Last Days of Pompeii and Alexander The Great (which, coincidentally, I am listening to now).
I thought that the ATG mini-series was great and for the most part accurate (with limited artistic license taken). TLDOP was pretty good, but for the most part was fiction wrapped around a historical event. I really enjoy the more historically accurate mini-series, and hope to find a couple of more good ones in the mix.

RaisinCain -
If you like historical accuracy, you'll enjoy the Nefertiti series.

I listened to the Les Mis series first and liked it very much. I read the book a few years ago which took quite awhile because it is such a big book. RMT did a good job of hitting the highlights of the book although they did change the story slightly just to make it flow for this extreemly condenced version.
I have listened to the first of the Pompeii and am looking forward to the rest of the series. For some reason, the Nefertiti series didn't apeal to me. Maybe I'll have to listen to it again and maybe it will be better the second time.

I listened to the Les Mes episodes a couple of weeks ago during my commute to work. I also saw the play in Phoenix last spring. The RMT writers did a good job, the RMT episodes followed the play very well.
