View Full Version : How do you pick the next episode?

With so many episodes from which to select, I was wondering how people decide what to listen to next?

Being a kind of linear-sequential type person, I'm working my way through episodes in chronological order. I'll make room for the episode of the week, and occasionally just pick one because the title sounds interesting.

How about the rest of you? What is it that draws you to an episode?

ahh yes... RANDOM.

Just didn't occur to a liner-sequential guy like me :wink:

I'm helping Jason Carr complete his database, so I listen to shows he needs information for. We're probably halfway there. We have the first 450 plus alot of non-sequential later episodes.

Good question! When I was listening in the beginning, I found myself grabbing titles that sounded interesting.

As I listened to more and more I discovered certain actors that I enjoyed and I would look up shows with those actors. (Fred Gwynne, Larry Haines, Paul Hecht, and others...)

Once and a while a show would stike me as an especially interesting story, at times like that I might go to the trouble to reference shows by the same writer.

I suppose I also went through a period of random picks, but I have noticed that lately I turn to the listening logs or show of the week for a recommendation.

I didn't see a way to vote in the poll but I'll reply anyway. ;)

My method is rather sequential. I started trying to listen to it daily but got off track. My method started as listening to the program in the first year that was closest to the actual date I got the full set. Because I either fell asleep during the program (listening with my MP3 boom box at the bedside) or listened to 2, I ended up not quite on track with the date after a while. :lol: I still tend to stick to the chronological order of whatever CD I have in since my boom box stays on the track next in line (no matter how long it's been shut off--unless it was unplugged).

My method might have something to do with laziness, too. ;) I don't like getting the CD in and out and fast forwarding to the right track. I'd rather just go on auto pilot.

That's very cool. :D Too bad 2003 is practically over. LOL. Does 2004 happen to match up with 1976?

Karen,
As a matter of fact, 2004 does match up with 1976 and the correlation is direct for all of the other CBSRMT years. So:
1974 = 2002
1975 = 2003
1975 = 2004
1976 = 2005
1977 = 2006
1978 = 2007
1979 = 2008
1980 = 2009
1981 = 2010
1982 = 2011
