OK, I paid for the Streamload subscription to get the files sent to me but now the Streamload site is reporting, for the last 15 hours or so, that the files are temporarly unavailable. Is this normal for that site?

The Streamload trial was a joke. I could download one file at a time but it couldn't be over 10mb so I was pretty much forced to pay to get what I needed. Now it won't work period :?

I Hope this eventually works. But anyway, thanks for the kindness for mailing me the mp3 files to me.

Streamload goes down from time to time. They always come back up the same day.

Some files might be "termporarily unavailable". This actually means "temporarily unavailable until someone uploads them again." As you come across these individual files, post them here and somebody will upload them.

You won't be able to get the entire collection as a freeloader, but you can get some great episodes. I think every episode in the 1977 season is less than 10MB.

I built my collection through Streamload and other than having somebody copy their cd's for me, I can't think of an easier or better way to do it.

OK, I was able to start downloading the files. One that is off line was "Ring of Roses". Can you upload that one?

Thanx!

Do you have an episode # or air date?

I'm sorry for not posting the episode info. Here's the episodes I'm missing for my first batch download:

74/01/18 13 Ring of Roses
74/06/24 109 Esacpe! Escape!
74/08/19 135 The Hands of Mrs Mallory
74/09/25 152 The Deadly Blind Man's Bluff

Name Streamload name is: zzyzx

Thanx

OK, now I'm down to needing these two episodes to fill the first 193 episodes I downloaded off of Streamload:

74/01/18 13 Ring of Roses
74/08/19 135 The Hands of Mrs Mallory

What I'm doing is burning CDRW with 50 episodes each after I run them through MP3pro and Otter (Jason Carr's web page suggestion). There seems to be a date-episode confusion on the episode the Sending (#52) and The Swamp Thing (#53) I think I switched the dated on these since Otter and an episode guide I downloaded reported the dates differently then what orginally downloaded them.

I uploaded these episodes, did a test download, and sent them to you. They should be good to go now.

I remember running into a lot of episodes that would not download in the 1978 season.

What is "Otter"?

Ok, I'm downloading them now, thank you! Otter is a Windows menu driven OTR mp3 management/database program. It is quite useful, especially for renaming files the way you prefer. It helps you keep all you OTR mp3 in order and inventories. Use this URL to download a copy:

I might give Otter a try. I have invested a lot of time and effort building a database in Microsoft Excel.

I counted last night and I've listened to 572 episodes, and all of them are logged in my database.

Once you figure out Otter, it will be a must-have program. It will save you hours of effort.

BTW, episode 258 is not available. Can you streamload it to me pretty please:) ?

I'm trying to burn all the episodes to CDRW and it seems like every batch of 50, there is at least one episode "not available" on Streamload.

Thanx

#259 "Through the Looking Glass" has been sent.

It is the second worst episode I've ever heard.

Do you mean to quality of the encode or the story line?

I mean the story. Man is it bad.

I shouldn't have told you that. You should be able to form you own opinion.

"Appointment in Uganda" = Worst Episode Ever

Oops, there I go again.

Well, Ok with 1,400 episodes to listen to, I won't pick those two to be the first:) BTW, episode 684 and 743 are off line on Streamload, do you have them? Can you eMail me the links to my Streamload account (zzyzx)?

Do you keep all the CBSRMT episodes on your hard drive?

684 and 783 have been uploaded.

I keep mine on CDs. When I downloaded them, I only had a six gig hard drive. I've got 80 gigs now, but I still use my CDs.

I do keep my upgrades on hard drive. Eventually, I'll get around to replacing these in my master set.

I just read your posts you two have been going back and forth with and I have learned alot already........I remember that ROSES one I think....it scared the daylights out of me.......I had HAD to turn it off.......there were some that I had to turn off because I got too scared.........I mean it@! but if that one is with kids singing "ring around the roses...." then that is the one.......man oh man.......what memories!~!!!! I want to get the WHOLE collection, what , how should I do it? it won't happen with me trying to download them from my winmx site or kazaa....I just don't have the power....I am using dial up and don't get connections faster then 36kps......I have about 30 episodes that are from all over the map.....I wish I could start at a point and go from there, any suggestions???? I did download a copy of all the ones that were made and their air dates, so I have that and will mark what I have, but I REALLY REALLY want the whole series, ...........any help would be grateful.

Go to www.streamload.com (http://www.streamload.com) and set up an account. With a dial up connection, I'd recommend you don't get more than the smallest account. You won't be able to download more than that in a month.

Let us know that you've set up the account and what your screen name is, and we'll send you the entire set. Then you can download what shows you want when you want.

I am not too knowledgeable about speeds and gigabytes and all....but what does streamloader allow me to do exactly? and would it take long to get the entire sset from there? all 1399? or would it be easier to find someone who I could send him a bunch of cd's and have them burn or copied? I know this is asking alot froom someone who I don't know but I sure have done my share of helping others.........I jusst am in love with these and am SO excited to find a site devoted to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am gonna pee in my pants......I mean it.............I just had my daughter and wife come home and was talking about 333080398 words a second and I think all she got out of it is ........Mystery theater....my a kid.........ole black water............10:07 p.m..........anyhow, I hope I am able to do this downloader thing.......is it faster than my dial up? or ....anyways thank you for responding........if anyone wants to call me and talk.....just email me and I will give you my phone number.. thank you.

Streamloader is an online file storage service. They charge you a monthly fee in exchange for a certain # of gigs per month.

If you set up an account, go with the $4.95 a month to get started. You can always purchase more gigs if you need them.

We will send you the entire collection. All 1399 episodes. You can download whatever episode you like whenever you like. You can download the entire collection if you want to spend the time and money.

It beats P2P because the episodes are always there and you pick whichever you want. You don't have to worry about a peer going offline. The entire collection is yours.

I just went to STREAMLOADER and saw that I should get the cheap one which would do up to 1000 mb a month.....how much does the entire collection add up to be? will I be at this for months!!!!!!!!! I don't really understand this........thanks.

This 1000 MB a month is the one you want to start out with.

The entire collection is about 15 gigs. It will take you awhile with a dial-up.

Charlie did it. He can tell you how long it took him.

I am out of work and have been for a while.....my wife went to work about 3 months ago but I stopped my internet access but they haven't turned me off.....I haven't paid in about 3 months......so anyday could be my last........is there anyone willing to trade for a collection of the RMT....I have lazer disc movies I am trying to find a home for.....a metal detector.........plus all kinds of tools.......I just don't think I would be able to spend the amount of time and all to download this collection at the speed I get....I have 56 k but the best I get is 36......mostly in the twenties.........so I think it would be a waste of time for me.......haveing the internet is a luxury for us........but since I am out of work and have kids, its a luxury that had to go......I will try to ask if any of our friends have access to streamloader and maybe they could do it for me....but I think I would be asking for too much......what do you all think? Charlie, did it take along time to get the collection?
