Some new encodes are appearing on the newsgroups:

alt.binaries.sound.radio.oldtime

They are ENORMOUS!! the latest posts (ep# 728, 729, 730, 731) are all over 100mb per file. Another episode, also #728 was encoded at 192-44 and weighed in at 58mb. I downloaded it but the difference in quality was not enough for me to bother downloading the 100mb files. The poster uses the name:

EBAYDEALERS@WILLBESHOT.org

rather interesting.

There are also new encodes of the first 30 episodes with file sizes ranging from 13 - 20mb. The poster is a charly<nospam@nospam.com.com (charlie, is that you?!)

I have been getting the files that are being posted there and I have noticed that a lot of them are file renames of ones that I have from the Bob Cooke days of downloading. Others are new encodes I use a binary downloader for newsgroups to scan and reassemble the binaries locally, its kinda cool.
http://www.cosmicwolf.com/ <-- there is an alt binary group for cbsrmt as well that posts more files , but it is not available on all nntp servers. Sorry but I am at work and cannot recall the exact group name being I am typing this from work.

I think a majority of the encodes most of us have are from the Bob Cook collection.

I am going to work next weekend on compiling a list of bad encodes in my collection that I want to post here and see if those of you who use newsgroups can help me improve my collection.

I get some improved encodes from another group I belong to and always try to share when I get them. I thought everybody's encode of "Voyage to Intrastar" was bad. I guess you've all upgraded.
