Hey guys!
Thank you so much for your virtual support these last few weeks.
My dad is doing well so far. He's in his hospital room and doing well.
He has to be home for a month and NOT MOVE...yea right!
He broke his neck when I was a kid (he was a rugby player) and was mis-diagnosed as only having dislocated shoulder. Long story short, if he didn't have his neck operated on, he would be paralyzed by the end of this year. He's only 58 and has a long life to live, so he took the risk and had the surgery. I don't have any information yet as to his prognosis but I will keep you all informed. Again, thank you!
As for the help you've all offered so that I may get my dad this wonderful surprise of the CD's...thank you for that too! I can't wait to hear them myself. I feel like a 6 year-old at Christmas.
I also can't wait to be able to join discussions about the show itself once I get familiar with it again.
You are all the best!
THANKS!
Wendy

We're glad to hear about your father doing well Wendy. Yes, he is just a young man.
BTW, my better half is also named Wendy.

Wendy,
A complete set of disks are in the mail. The postman tells me they should be there in about 4 days. I hope they are everything you hoped for and I must tell you that I hope my kids are as in tune with my wishes if I ever suffer as your dad is....I think it's a testament to your good heart and a great relationship.
Finally, and most importantly, I send my sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery to your dad.

Hi everyone,
Good news!...I got the CD's from Vince and some from Michael as well.
I drove like a maniac to my dad's in Davis, CA from Monterey (about 200 mi) to deliver them to him.
The cool thing is that I listened to the CD's from Michael all the way there. I can't tell you how incredible it felt to hear E.G Marshall's voice again, the screetch of the wooden door, and the dramatic voices over my Eclipse stereo as I anticipated my father's reaction to his get-well gift.
As I arrived, my parents hugged and greeted me and I told my dad that I had a gift for him. He smiled and as he unwrapped the box I put Vince's CD's in, he recognized the cat logo and saw what these CD's were. His mouth dropped and his face lit up as he continued to turn the box upside down and carefully lay out the rest of his new collection. He screamed, "Is this what I think it is?" I looked at him, smiled, and attempting to hold back my tears, as I responded, "yes".
He proceeded to speak in half sentences asking, "how...what...where...?" The best part was telling him of how I acquired these priceless memories for him...how I spent weeks on the internet and finding you all. I told him how supportive you've all been and that many were eager to send us these CD's. He begged me to put one into his CD player on his new laptop and just about cried when he heard the opening lines. He grabbed me and hugged me with his neckbrace on and all I could think about was how he would snuggle with my sister and I in bed as we listened to these shows which terrified us so, and that now, thanks to you all, I was returning the nurturing he so richly deserves.
I look forward to many discussions with you all as I re-introduce myself to these fabulous recordings!
Thanks again!
Wendy

Wendy -
Thank-you so much for the update. I read your post to my wife (who doesn't understand my love of the show) and it brought her to tears of happiness. With any luck she may start listening with me too! :D
Wishing your father a swift recovery, and looking forward to seeing your own posts online in the future!
cheers
Miles

Wow! How on earth did I miss this one??? I was living in No-Cal right close to Davis in '03.
I guess I was too involved with life at the time.
