Woo-Hoo! After a few hours of frustration, I have my Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX card installed! I did convert one childhood RMT last night with good results. I still need to install some of the bundled software though.

I think I will pre-eq them on my BSR 10-band before going into my CPU. That will eliminate a lot of the hiss associated with many of these. Many of mine have some commercials and news broadcasts too! Cool!

Get ready for some high-quality stuff in the next couple of months.

That sounds great Ross! Are you going to upload those to Streamload (http://www.streamload.com)?

Charlie,

Yup! When I get through them all I will put them up there. I have done 16 so far. I think there are about 50 or so. The sound quality after mixing them down is for the most part real good! There are of course some anomalies, but those are mostly minimal.

I am pleased at the progress! I will have them done by next week. I can guarantee that most of these will sound better than a lot of them out there.

I also have some '74 rebroadcasts from 1988/9 that I recorded in college. Those sound real nice! I'll get those done after the childhood ones. I recorded those on better equipment and on High-Bias tapes, so the editing will not have to be as extreme.

P.S. WOW! Whole RMT set on Streamload? COOL!

OK! Still drudging along. Tape repairs and other stuff slowing me down, but I am not going to quit!

17 down!

Ross,

I've downloaded some of the files you sent but have not had time to listen yet. :(

I'm looking forward to it soon though. smile.gif

Well, been working on a million different things lately, mainly motorcycles and guitars. I have 25 episodes done, and I will try and get the others done soon. I am also going to try and split the opening/closing sequences and acts so that you can scan through the episode to listen to certain sections. I have the software to do it, just haven't had the time.
