I love the progrm, obviously that is why I'm/we're here. I've downloaded a number of programs that I listen to regularly on my computer, however, when I try to burn them onto a disk the file never completes. I have the entire file and can listen to the whole thing on my computer, but only the first half(or so) of the program ever burns onto a disk. Any hints out there? It seems to only do this with CBSRMT wavs.

Hi jaimo and welcome to the forums. We are glad to have you.

Honestly, I've never seen anything like that. What burning software do you use?

I work with digital audio every day and I've not seen that problem before.

Does the disc just not finish burning or does it finish and then you can't listen to the files? How fast are you burning - have you tried going at half the speed? Have you tried various media? How many files are you putting on a disc at a time - a full one?

I'm using Adeptec DirectCD v2.5 to burn my cd's, and it usually works with no problems. I've tried to burn 5 different CBSRMT files at differing speeds and encounter the same problem. The program indicates my cd was written successfully(I do an entire program as one track), but when I play it it stops after 20 or 30 minutes and my cd player indicates its only a 20 or 30 minute track. It's only happening for RAdio Mystery theater so I thought perhaps there was something I don't know. I'll have to keep experimenting I guess. Thanks again for your help.

You are making data CD's right?

Nope, I've been writing them as audio cd's, the way I do for my mp3 music files that I convert to wavs. Should they be done as data files?

I have never seen this happen either. I'm concerned about your statement that you use Adaptec DirectCD to burn the files. DirectCD is not a burning program, but a program that allows you to format a CD-RW disk so that you can drag and drop files onto a CD-RW as if it was a floppy drive. DirectCD loads when you install Easy CD Creator which is the standard burning software most CD Writeable drive comes with. Unfortunently, my concern doesn't help your problem. I'm not sure why Charlie asked if you were making data CDs. Audio CDs is what I have always made. Charlie is the foremost authority on this board and has given me (and others) good advice in this area so hopefully, he will elaborate on this. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Hopefully, your experimenting will find a solution.

Well, I am not an expert, even though I work with this stuff a lot. I'm a creature of habit and basically just repeat the same tasks over and over.

When I burn an audio CD, I convert the format to a PCM .wav file with Cool Edit or Sound Forge. Of course, other programs are available to do the same thing.

If I were to burn a CBSRMT program to a CD, I would make a data CD and listen on my computer, or mp3 CD players are available - as discussed in other threads here on the forums. If I were making an audio CD, I would convert foramts first.

The reason I asked the question, is that I am wondering more about the process jaimo is using to make the CD. Perhaps you can convert from mp3 to regular audio CD format on the fly. If the software does that, I am not aware of it as I have never tried that.

So, perhaps more details will allow us to figure out the problem.
