Hi Folks,

I'm just starting to collect CBS RMT shows and I'm wondering how to use episode numbers for repeated shows. I'm starting to use a freeware program called Otter (http://otterbarn.tripod.com/) to catalog my collection and I noticed that the CBS RMT episode list that comes with it only numbers the unique episodes (up to 1399). But I'm finding most online .mp3's that include an episode number in the filename use the broadcast number (2900+).

I have two questions:

1) When a show was rebroadcast, was it a verbatim re-run from the original tape or is there a possibility for different introductions (different host), content, etc?

2) Is anyone else putting episode numbers in their .mp3 filenames? and if so, do 'you' use the unique story ID, or the sequential number of the actual broadcast?

Just curious.

Cheers,
Mark

Mark,

1) I'm not completely sure. Maybe some of both occured but I can not say for sure.

2) I was looking at that software you mentioned and this screenshot http://otterbarn.tripod.com/files.gif is how I had numbered mine when I was renaming my programs.
