Please point me in the right direction. I'd like to download an episode or two. I have great memories of keeping a small radio with me at night and going to sleep listening to CBSRMT. I'm taking my kids camping soon and would like to burn a CD with an episode or two to take with us.

ok, I got my "freeloader" account. It's "sbenton290". Do you need my password in order to download files to me?

Just sit tight and we'll get the episodes to your inbox. Works just like e-mail.

Remember, most of these shows will not play in equipment that does not play MP3's. The bitrates are too low to convert to an audio file that will play on older cd players. I don't know if they play in new equipment.

You'll be limited somewhat in what you can download to a freeloader account. If there is a particular episode you want, and you are not able to download it, let me know and I'll host if for you so you can download it from my paid account.

Welcome aboard. smile.gif

Regardless of the bitrate, you can convert the files to PCM .wav files (with an audio editor) at 44.1 kHZ (or less) and they can be burned to standard audio CD's.

It does nothing to improve the audio quality but it certainly can be done.

You can save them as their original bitrate of 32kbs (or sometimes 24kbs) and they should play fine as long as the file you got from someone else was of decent quality. I suggest using a p2p program called BEARSHARE at http://www.bearshare.com . I have gotten over 100 shows from this program by typing in "cbsrmt" in the search section under audio files. The program is free and a good way to accumulate shows.
Acoustica has an audio mixer program that allows you to save a .wav file as an mp3 ,and you can also select to bitrate that you save the files as.
Nero Express is my program of choice to save mp3's (and regular formatted as well)to a cdr.I found a mini "boom box" at my local Walmart that plays the MP3 format for about $37 , so I now can listen to the shows at work all week on just one cd!
If you have any general ?'s i'll try to help, as I am telling everyone I know about the great old RMT shows.I've even got some guys at work hooked on them now!

I used to share on Bearshare quite a bit and I got a few shows, but it seemed like the selection of material on Bearshare wasn't as good as Kazaa.
