Charlie,
Please send the CBS Radio Work Shop shows to Streamload ID "arend1701" when you can. I was not aware that CBS ran this series in the late 1950s. It sounds interesting, especially the review posted about "A Brave New World".
Thanks,
Matt

Charlie,
Thank you very much for all that you sent me! I'm going to download a few today and head out on a road trip. Radio dramas are great for that reason. It keeps the mind going as the miles go by.
Thanks again.

I am currently listening to a MRT episode "long distance" and am throughly enjoying the series. Thanks to this web sit and your links, I have been able to really expand my enjoyment of old time radio :D I do not know the CBS Radio Workshop but would like to get them. My streamload account is runn44. Thanks :D

I'm with you, it's definitely expanded my listening repetoire and suddenly there aren't enough hours in the day for listening. I'm still working on downloading and burning the huge mass of shows that Lagavulin sent to my Streamload account when I first found this forum. It's amazing what's been saved as far as OTR goes. I'm fascinated by the fact that there is so much available. How did these old shows end up recorded and in peoples' collections???

WOW is the only word that I can think of  Thank you Lagavuln, this will certainly keep me busy for a while. Jack Benny is one of my favorites and you have supplied me with a copious amount of shows including interviews! It is nice to find a forum that has people of similar passion for OTR!
Thanks again :D :D :D

I have been looking for several CBS Workshop episodes for some time.
Show number 67 "Heaven is in the Sky" seems to be a mislabeled copy of "The Long Way Home" in every collection I've seen. I know the episode is out there somewhere. I have seen some places selling a cassette copy for ten bucks or so. But does anyone have an mp3 copy of the real article?
Second, there is a show listed in some sources as Robert Frost's 76 birthday and its dated Jan 6th 1957. Has anyone ever heard this show? I would love to get a copy, but who knows wheere it is.
Third, I am looking for a good copy of Interview with Shakespeare -- Every copy I have heard has awful sound.
The problem of ubiquitous bad copies exists with The Green Hills of Earth episode. I would be delighted to have a listenable copy.
I don't have a steamload account -- never had the kind of needs that justified the cost -- but if you have ashow and don't mind sending it as an email attachment to me at rsreiser@mailsnare.net, I would be very grateful.
I don't know how active this forum is, but I thought I'd give it a try.
Thanks
Bob

Thanks Vince,
The download went effortlessly. Thankyou!
The Interview with Shakespeare was a big improvement.
Alas, you had the same trouble as I with Heaven in the Sky. It is a mislabled copy of Long Way Home (albeit a much better copy than the one making the circut in most collections.) I really do appreciate your taking the time.
If anyone can locate a real Heaven is in the Sky, I award them my own personal OTR Croix de Guerre with oak clusters.
Thanks again Vince.

Charlie might I bother you for all the episodes in this series as well please? I began collecting OTR shows after being befriended by an elderly gentleman (cancer paitent), during a brief hospital stay. I was instantly impressed by the character of this completely off the hook fellow, and began collecting all the otr I could find as a favor to him, but have quickly become addicted myself. So far this forum and usenet have been my only resource, but I've managed to collect around 3800 episodes in total. As soon as I sure I have complete sets I will begin uploading what I can to my streamload account, and will make my collection available to anyone that might find it entertaining. If I can be of service in any way in the meantime, please feel free to let me know.

I'm a newbie, found this group through the Yahoo newsgroup which I joined a couple of months back after learning of it in the Usenet group. This is awesome!
I learned of Streamload here and just opened an account. I saw in one of these forums (I can't figure out how to get back to it) that someone had the cleaned up version of #943 Nefertiti Part 4. I've got three copies, all go bad at the start of Act III. If someone could drop the good version to me at Kizer_Sosay I will be greatly appreciative. As soon as I figure out how it all works I will be happy to share. I am down to 42 missing episodes which I am now acquiring through resources I've learned about here, so I am already in the phase of trying to get the cleanest versions to replace some of the poorer-quality files I have.
Thanks, everyone! :D
