File Names

I am new to collecting OTR and I have noticed that so many of the files available to download have extraordinary file names using the underscore. for example:

the_detective_story.mp3 etc

Is there any particular reason for this? Would like to know before I rename

I've wondered about the same thing myself, and found the advice provided at the following URL to be illuminating:

It stands in counterpoint to the conventional wisdom that (in file names, at least) underscores are the preferred alternative to spaces.
