Charlie,

Why did you choose the cat as a "status" symbol?

It is certainly unique and as a cat lover it is pleasing to see this being used...

Actually, I'm a cat lover too but that is not the reason...

A cat was a prominent part of the CBSRMT logo.

I do too and although I had not mentioned it previously, I woke up last Friday morning to find my little Rose had passed away in the night. She wasn't even 3 years old. Needless to say, we have been devestated since. She really was the light of our lives. We took her to the vet over in Canada and she thought that she must have died from a heart attack because there were no signs of any of the other things that could have happened.

This is Alvin and Rose (she is the little one):

Another shot of her:

So, although we were not ready for another one, Alvin was lonely and we felt that we had to get him someone else right away so we called PAWS (the local humane society) and they went in on Sunday for us and we brought home another little cat.

This is Lily. She's been at our house for two days now:

I'm sorry for your loss. Lily is very pretty. We have a cat that looks like he could be her brother! We rescued him outside of a Kentucky Fired Chicken resturant. He has been known as "The Colonel" ever since.

Charie,

100,000 apologies and sympathies for the loss of your child/pet. I myself am highly allergic to cats and have never developed an affectionate taste for them, but as a dog lover, I completely empathize with your loss.

I lost my little dog on Christmas day when he we left to visit relatives and he dug a hole under the fence and, as I believe, tried to follow. He was found on the side of the road about two miles on the same route we had driven. It was a sad Christmas, to say the least.

But, not to draw attention from your loss, I am again very sorry.

Lily will be a wonderful addition to your family, but the joy you found with Rose shall be forever imprinted on your heart.

Go in slow strides, my friends!

Sorry to hear that Fizz. I have 2 good friends that have recently experienced the loss of a dog. I'm sorry that you had to go through that too.

Another friend of ours that lost her dog last year said she would not go through it again because of the heartache at the end.

But, I say, it is worth it... not just because of what you get out of it while they are alive but that fact that they [b:03285256a1]need[/b:03285256a1] good homes and I know that I can give two cats a good home.

Whatever it is, cats or dogs or rabbits, etc., they need good homes. I would like to have 3 cats but Wendy says the limit is two so that is okay too.

Charlie,

Sorry for your loss. I'm not a cat person, but I love dogs and love having pets.

I have been SO fortunate with pets.

I've had one cat who died of a heart attack suddenlyat the age of 14. He died after kidney stone surgery and the vet did a mini-autopsy out of curiosity.

My parents have had several cats through the years, and none of them had any pride. MY cat I had as a kid was affectionate, but only on his terms. He didn't care for anybody else in the family He had pride and was outright defiant at times. He chewed buttons off of my shirt in the laundry once when I yelled at him for snagging an egg sandwich off my plate. Now I'm allergic to them.

My parents always had house dogs that lived to be 15 - 16 years old. All three we had in my childhood lived full lives and died peacefully and painlessly. My wife and I have a dog now (a mutt) that is wonderful and has not had a sick day in her life except when she eats plastic bags. A real connesiuer of Polyvinyl Chloride is my dog.

Charlie and Fizz,
Though I'm allergic to both cats and dogs, I can certainly empathize with your losses. Please accept my sincere condolences as I know pets are family.
