when using WinMX, if the bitrate is shown in red - does that mean it won't download? my experience has been that the stuff in green is the stuff that loads better. And since they have no help function - I am guessing at most of what I do there. i would be most appreciative of any input on the WinMX stuff.

I think all the color means is a range of rates. Red=<120, yellow < 240 but = or> 120, etc, etc. The breakpoints I used may not be right but the concept is. You can tell WinMx parameters on what you want to use for any seach and also set up buttons(3) with you own tagname to make selection of bitrates and file types easier. Take some time and checkout each of the option pages. Try stuff, trial and error is how I learned. You really can't hurt anything.

thank you - i don't understand what you are talking about, but thanks for the effort! i don't know what the tagname thing is - i am dumb about some of these terms. i need a flow chart with directions - lol! it's hard to wade through WinMx with no directions.

Craig is right but after you download from Streamload you won't be much interested in WinMX and you should have all of those files now.

I make files available on WinMX, and use it to locate rare files, but otherwise, I hate WinMX. The search engine is inconsistent. Most files are queued forever, and when you get there, you download at a snail's pace for a few bits, then lose connection.

Go with Streamload. i hate to sound like a commercial them. I have a set of gripes about their service, too. Difference is, Streamload generally wants to help you. WinMX's help page has been under construction since Moses walked the earth.

WinMX can be used to fill in what you can't get off of Streamload for whatever reason.

Do I miss Napster. Now there was a file sharing service.

down off the soapbox now.

i'm sure streamload would be wonderful - IF IT WOULD WORK! i can't access my account to do anything except view the stuff i already had in there (242 kevin spacey files!). it keeps saying it is in a transition.

They were discussing this over on the Yahoo board. Apparently everythingis up and running now. Give it a try.

You must be a serious Kevin Spacey fan!

Tammy,

I sent you all of the CBSRMT files. If they are not present by Monday morning, I will send them again.

Sorry for the problems.
