Does anyone know which port(s) Kazaa uses? I need to prevent users from "sharing" with kazaa.

Wendell,
KaZaA uses a default TCP port 1214 but it's capable of using dynamically assigned ports. You should probably consider blocking 1214 for both TCP and UDP and hope that cuts down on your traffic.

Thanks for the info. After I posted this question, I started poking around and found that it is almost impossible to block Kazaa. :x

While it does use (default) 1214, IF it can't connect through that one, it will try (many) others including 80.

So, the only way that would completely block Kazaa, would also block Internet use. I read in a user group yesterday that Kazaa can also use ports 110 and 25!

Hmmm... Yes Mr. CEO I know your e-mail don't work but, we've stopped those pesky file sharers.
